Is Trinity right for
your family?

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and want a thoroughly Christian and academically rigorous education, keep exploring to find out more about our Preschool and Grammar School (Junior School).

Founded by Christian families for Christian families.

Trinity School was started in 2017 by Grant and Deborah Stein, who have long had a vision for Classical Christian Education. The school started with a playgroup in their dining room. One by one, other families caught the vision as Deborah taught their children.

Today, Trinity Classical School is a registered Not-for-profit Company with more than 15 full time staff. We still have a preschool focused on learning through play but now also have Junior School classes up to Grade 7, with Grade 8 launched in 2024. Deborah Stein continues to set the vision as School Director and Grant Stein serves as the Chairman on the Board of directors.

We aim to offer education that is Christian from the ground up and uses the best tried and tested methods of the past.

We are Christian school, not just a Christian Ethos school.

While we hugely respect Christian teachers in secular schools, but we believe our children need more than the secular curriculum taught by Christian teachers. We need both our ethos and our curriculum submitted to Christ.

We are also a Classical school, which means we draw on the educational insights and resources of the ancient and recent past. We structure our curriculum according to the traditional Western trivium. We teach Latin from Grade 3 and Logic from Grade 6. And we introduce our children to the best of world literature and art.

Trinity School is almost completely funded by parents through school fees. We have no government or corporate funding.

Our only other income is the generosity of others in the Body of Christ who give without expecting anything in return – we can’t even offer tax deductability yet. Nevertheless there are people who give generously and joyfully.

Fee Structure

Part 1: Don’t Miss the Blessing

The classical Christian system nurtured Christian children for nearly 2000 years. And then, we forgot about it. When we abandoned the “cultivation” of our youth, we set in motion the harvest. In the past 30 years, hope has returned to the field. Nearly 50,000 students are trained in classical Christian schools today.

Part 2: Forging a New Path

Are your children prepared to make a difference? “Geronimo, Amen!” Part 2 shows you why classical Christian education (CCE) is the best form of education for every child.

DOES MY CHILD ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DO LATIN?

Yes, Latin is an integral part of the Classical experience. Latin will do your child good; if you can’t, with sincerity, encourage your child in learning Latin, Trinity is not the right school for your family.
The Classical Difference website has plenty of articles explaining the value of Latin.

CAN I SEND MY CHILD TO TRINITY IF I AM NOT A CHRISTIAN?

Trinity’s mission is to support Christian families. We require at least one parent to be a professing (and practicing) Christian believer.

WHAT IS YOUR DISCIPLINE POLICY?

Discipline is an area which requires great trust between parents and school. Parents need to know that their Christian values are enforced at school with the same loving firmness that they are at home. At Trinity discipline is part of discipleship. It is always approached with an attitude of grace and with the aim of seeing heart change, not mere outward conformity.

The golden school rule is show respect as you would have others show respect to you. This means listening to teachers and not speaking over classmates. It means respect for the feelings, property and dignity of others. Children are reminded of these standards often and if they fail to honour the standards after repeated reminders, the issue is taken to his or her parents. The teacher will then discuss (and offer suggestions) how to present a united front that addresses not just the behaviour but the heart behind the behaviour.

WHAT IS YOUR RACE POLICY?

We believe all people are descended from Adam and loved by God. It is not right, in the sight of God, to judge anyone on the colour of their skin. However, it is also not honouring to God to ignore the differences in appearance and culture in our world; instead, we should celebrate and learn to honour the differences and similarities between us.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY REGARDING SEX-ED?

The privilege of explaining love, marriage and sex to children belongs primarily and principally to parents. We support Christian parents in their desire to teach their children biblical standards of sex as and when they as parents judge the time to be right. We offer no sex-ed to children.
We do, however, offer sex-ed to parents, in the form of workshops and seminars designed to help parents talk to their children about sex and sexual identity in a way that is biblical and age-appropriate.

WHAT GRADE DO YOU GO UP TO?

We currently (2024) go up to Grade 8.
Applications for Grades above Grade 3 will only be considered if the parents and children understand that some catching up (particularly in Latin) will be required.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS TO LEAVE AND GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL?

We ensure that all the South African National Curriculum outcomes are covered in our curriculum. Your child will not be ‘behind’ if for some reason you need to go to another school.
